When an upscale steakhouse approached us about custom millwork for their brand new, 12,000 square foot Center City Philadelphia location, our team of custom craftsmen went to work to create unique custom restaurant millwork for the sophisticated and contemporary space.
The client’s designers wanted a subtle yet slightly industrial feel without sacrificing the intimacy that patrons expect from a fine-dining establishment, and the addition of custom millwork throughout the space added warmth to the sleek and stylish atmosphere. From the glass-enclosed kitchen, to the in-house butcher shop, raw bar, and two elegant bars serving handcrafted cocktails, the dining experience at Steak 48 is unparalleled and the custom millwork adds to the ambiance.
Our craftsmen added eye-catching architectural detail with custom floor-to-ceiling bookcases, framed glass room dividers, a steel-framed mirror inset into the reception desk, coffered ceilings and a live-edge bar with Claro Walnut trim on the upper mezzanine.
The bookcases and dividers create cozy corridors and intimate dining corners to make the large space feel less overwhelming for patrons who wish to dine in private. And over 4,000 square feet of reclaimed barn wood, mostly pine and stained oak pieces, as wall coverings also adds warmth to the space and gives it a more contemporary feel. From the floors to the coffered ceilings to the steel frame doors, no detail was left untouched on this project.
